TECHNOZERO - Google has started construction of a data center in Taiwan. The data center will complement the two data centers that have been built before, namely in Singapore and Hong Kong.
As reported by The Next Web, Google has poured investment costs for the construction of a third data center in the amount of 700 million U.S. dollars. Special construction of data centers in Taiwan will cost about 300 million U.S. dollars.
Google expects the data center in Taiwan can be tested in the second half of 2012. If it operates, Google will employ approximately 25 employees with a number of positions on a part-time and part of the contract.
While the reason for Google to build data centers in these countries is to strengthen the position of Google's business in Asia. That is because the internet username in Asia need a faster internet access and want to get the products and services more than currently exists.
Google president of Asia Pacific Daniel Alegre explained that the Web population growth in countries in the region will be the focus of the next Google.
"Many new Internet users come from people in Asia than any other country in the world. That's why we build data centers in Asia," he said.
Although not the first time building a data center, Google will use different methods of data maintenance center in Asia, especially in Taiwan. Later, Google will use cooling systems all the time and thermal energy storage system.
The use of these technologies will lead to more efficient cooling system at night. Meanwhile, the temperature remains low and can produce more power.
"When the weather is hot in Taiwan, then the power required for data center mendinginan will be greater. But we work around this by pouring water into the room to keep the temperature cool," he explained.
Internet users in Asia generally are often ignored by major web companies. But Google claims that it took the initiative to build a new office in Thailand and Indonesia. So that Google has put its offices in 12 countries in the Asia Pacific.
