TECHNOZERO — Mac computer operating system from Apple under attack from a malicious program Trojan variation called Flashback. The number of infected Mac continues to grow worldwide.
The news was announced by Dr. Web antivirus companies from Russia on Wednesday (04/04/2012). Initially, Dr. Web says, there are 550 000 Mac computers are infected because of the growth of Mac botnet.
Then the analyst of Dr Web, Ivan Sorokin, reported via his Twitter account that the number of infected computers increased to 600 000 Mac.
Mac users the most infected are from the United States, amounting to 303 449 units or 57 percent, including iMac, Mac Pro, and MacBook. Later, the Canadian unit of 106 379 or 20 percent, followed by England and Australia at positions 3 and 4.
Dr Web found trojan Flashback has been around since September 2011, disguised as the installation file Adobe Flash Player. Flashback new variant emerged at the weekend and started to attack the security of Java on the Mac.
When installed, Flashback attack code into a web browser and other applications. In fact, Flashback able to steal passwords and user information.
Apple immediately took steps to provide special pages Trojan Flashback explanation of this problem. Mac users are asked to update the Java component with a file that can be downloaded from http://support.apple.com/downloads/.
